Submit Job

The BCVTA wants to ensure the success of your job posting! Here are a few helpful tips to help you meet our approval requirements and assist you to help complete your posting for the best results:

  1. Job Title: While job titles may vary, please note that "Registered Veterinary Technologist" is the protected title for RVTs in British Columbia. You can encourage your RVT team members to use the correct title by referring to them as such, including in your advertisements for job opportunities. Please avoid using the term “technician” as this title is not currently protected. Posts referring to positions for technicians will not be approved. More information on this can be found here:
  2. Job Description: Write a detailed description that outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for the role. Providing additional details about your team, area, or hospital culture will help potential employees get an idea of who you are!
  3. Pay Transparency Act Compliance: Section 2 of the Pay Transparency Act requires that salary or wage information must be included on all publicly advertised job postings. This requirement comes into effect on November 1, 2023, and applies to all employers in B.C.

Employers do not need to include bonus pay, overtime pay, tips, or benefits on job postings. They may voluntarily choose to include this or other information if desired. The expected wage or salary or expected wage or salary range must be included within the job posting. You can find more information on this here:

Additional tips for job postings:

  • For the best appearance, avoid copying and pasting bullet points into your ad. The system separates them in a way that reduces readability.
  • You can copy and paste photos from Microsoft Word or Google Docs to make your post stand out. The easiest way is to insert your image into your Word or Google document and then copy and paste it into your post.
