Lead RVT - VCA Canada Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre
VCA Canada Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre in Lake Country, BC has an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our hospital of highly skilled professionals as our new Lead RVT!.
You will use your technical and leadership skills to guide and develop or medical support staff, while working closely with our Medical Director to establish and implement medical protocols.

This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities that will be ideal for your strong technical, administrative and organizational skills that ultimately support the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. Additionally, you will ensure our clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for, and appreciated!

Technical skills: venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, physical examinations and patient assessment, dentistry, nutrition and pharmacy

Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery

Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records

Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients

Some of the key Responsibilities will include:

Oversee a team of RVTs and TAs including recruiting, scheduling, training & development, and performance management
-
Implement processes and oversee coordination of patient care, records, and communication
-
Coordinate with Client Care Team Lead to ensure seamless internal communications and positive department collaboration

Attend regular meetings with the Management Team to review schedules, team updates, patient care, hospital protocols, and discuss any areas for improvement

Located in Lake Country, VCA Canada’s Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is a growing hybrid and urgent care practice situated in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan Valley, serving the Interior of British Columbia for over 35 years. The hospital houses a bustling general practice, featuring a healthy case load of exotic patients, and expanding specialty services including Surgery, Rehabilitation & Pain Management, Dermatology, and remote Nutrition offering. We are further committed to expanding our ER department to 24/7 services, as well as actively recruiting for Internal Medicine, Critical Care and Radiology.
The hospital is a 16,500 sq ft purpose-built facility with eight exam rooms, spacious treatment floor, well-equipped in-house lab, four ORs, separate Dental suite, Philips Affiniti 70 Ultrasound unit, Aquilion 64-slice CT scanner, and Sound SmartDR+CsI with hands-free capabilities.
